Vtg Frank Lloyd Wright Home Studio Foundation large ceramic plaster wall Hanging. This rare piece is dated 1978. With Depiction of Biblical Nature Two Large pelicans with Tree and Scroll above. The depth is very articulate. The Large Lloyd Wright piece measures 35 Tall 14 wide and 3 1/2 deep. The piece is in very good condition with just one small chip at its base on the scroll bottom, and hairline crack in right pelican bill. Has what looks like Horse hair texture plaster on the back with a secure wire hanger. FRANK LlOYD WRIGHT Stork Plaster Relief by collaborator Richard Bock. This piece is a reissue most likely from the 1980s. Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio Collection across the bottom. The pilasters to the entrance of FLW personal Oak Park, IL home & studio are adorned with this relief depicting storks standing among foliage beside a scroll inscribed with a architectural plan. (See actual photo of entrance). This home served as FRANK LLOYD WRIGHTS private residence and workshop from 1889 to 1909, the first 20 years of his career. This is an exciting piece!!! Relief has areas of surface distress appropriate to its age(see photos). Its solid and has no visible major cracks. Louis Sullivan Auditorium Theatre Frank Lloyd Wright Home Studio Plaster Panel. This is a casting of panels produced circa 1970s for the restoration of Frank Lloyd Wright’s home and studio in Oak Park, Illinois. The design was initially used in the second floor hotel lobby of the Auditorium Building circa 1888-89, where Wright worked as a draftsman for Sullivan. A handful of additional casts were produced beyond what was need for the restoration and distributed to supporters and member of the restoration project. A couple of hand typed cards from the FLW Home and Studio accompany the plaque and give their version of the origin of the design. Similar examples can be seen in the collections of the City Museum of St. Louis, Missouri and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Wire on back for wall hanging. Measures 29.5in x 29.5in. This antique, sumac pattern plaster fragment was salvaged from the Dana-Thomas House that was designed by famed architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. It was removed when the house underwent restoration in 1979, when the plasterwork was replaced by a more durable replica. The sumac motif appears throughout the house. Dana-Thomas House (2nd Floor, 301 East Lawrence Avenue, Springfield, IL, built 1902-4). National Heritage Museum (Lexington, MA). In 1902 Wright was commissioned his largest project to date to remodel the large mansion owned by the flamboyant socialite and heiress Susan Lawrence Dana (18621946). This ambitious project was designed in the Prairie School style and included over 450 art glass windows, skylights, door panels, sconces, and light fixtures in the design and even a bowling alley. Dana closed the main house and moved to a smaller cottage on the property in 1928 and it remained closed until Charles C. It now serves as a museum and is considered the best preserved and most complete example of Wright’s Prairie School houses. Width 30 Depth 2.25 Height 24.25 inches. Vtg Antique Frank Lloyd Wright Joseph Bust Artist Plaster Bronze Sculpture. This bust of Frank Lloyd Wright was made by Joseph Konzal in the 1950s and is comprised of a painted bronze patina on plaster mounted to a wooden base. Konzal was a recognized sculptor who designed busts of other notable figures between 1930 and 1960 including Walt Whitman and Martha Graham. The piece is signed by the artist on the back. One small paint chip on back left side of head but in otherwise great condition! What is seen is exactly what is received.
