Huge Lot Authentic Luxfer Frank Lloyd Wright Windows And Tiles Circa 1910

Ok story behind these are that they came out of a building that was built about 1910 in Detroit. They were removed during a renovation about 30 yrs ago and put in the barn, a couple of the pieces were outside the barn most of those are on the table(in the pictures). We are currently disassembling, washing and packaging the lose and smaller flimsy pieces. A lot of the lead framing is damaged and flimsy but 95% of the tiles are in really good condition. There are two fairly solid units that could probably be framed and used as is and three more that have missing or damaged lead framing but are almost complete(see photos). Please notice some of these tiles are cut to fit the window size but are just as usable in the same fashion. There are over 1,110 total tiles. 225 tiles are the flower design. There are 6 tiles with the Luxfer logo. Over 880 of the plain saw blade style. All of these tiles came from the same building and have the same light purple hue. Lighting makes a big difference with the amount of purple hue. We are prepared to crate the large pieces and the rest will be cleaned and packaged with care. Disclosure I’m estimating that there is probably 20 -30 tiles with broken corners but usable they are broke where the lead corner will cover. There are maybe 20 others that have maybe a chip in one of the fins. And will depend on the distance but will be very fair even free if your within a state or two. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Sullivan Summer House – 1890. Wright’s architectural education consisted almost entirely of the years he spent working in the Chicago office of Louis Sullivan. Several of the residential commissions that came into that office landed on Wright’s desk while Sullivan remained focused on his seminal skyscraper designs. Sullivan was so confident in young Wright’s abilities that he turned over the design of his own summer house to the young man. What you see here is the result, a spacious, ground hugging, gable roofed design with a porch stretching its full length and either end anchored by chimneys. Sadly the home was completely destroyed during Hurricane Katrina. As a work of art these prints are worth purchasing in their own right. For those of you interested in building a historically inspired house, these plans offer an excellent starting point. Outside dimensions are approximately 57′ x 72′. Built in 1924 for retailer Charles Ennis and his wife Mabel, the Ennis House was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built by his son, architect Lloyd Wright. The house is the last and largest of the elder Wrights four Los Angeles-area textile block houses which feature patterned and perforated concrete blocks that give a unique textural appearance to both their exteriors and interiors. The house and chauffeurs quarters span roughly 6,200 square feet and were constructed of more than 27,000 concrete blocks; all made by hand using decomposed granite extracted from the site. Despite its significance, the Ennis House suffered greatly over the years from deferred maintenance, deterioration of the concrete blocks, the 1994 Northridge earthquake, and record rainfall in 2005. That same year, the Los Angeles Conservancy, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy stepped in and reorganized the nonprofit that owned the house, renaming it the Ennis House Foundation.
