Signed by Frank Lloyd Wright on the front free endpaper within printed red square and dated 58. Ownership signature of Wright’s student, George Knowles in pencil above Wright’s signature. Bound in publisher’s black cloth boards lettered and stamped in red and gilt; lacking the dust jacket. Very Good with light rubbing and fading to spine and edges, heaviest along top edge of upper board. Binding shaken with light toning to contents. A profusely illustrated monograph of the famous architect’s design and construction of The Price Tower in downtown Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The tower was built for Harold C. Price as a corporate headquarters for his pipeline construction company. The initial project was laid out for a cluster apartment complex in New York City in 1929, but was never realized due to the Great Depression.

The Price Tower is a nineteen-story, 221-foot-high tower at 510 South Dewey Avenue in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. It was built in 1956 to a design by Frank Lloyd Wright. It is the only realized skyscraper by Wright, and is one of only two vertically oriented Wright structures extant. Price Company as its world headquarters. The Price Tower is Frank Lloyd Wright’s only realized skyscraper. Wright took his inspiration for the cantilevered design from a tree. Tight and VG+ in its dark cloth, with a very thin band of light offsetting along the upper and lower edges. And in a bright, price-intact, VG to VG+ dustjacket, with a bit of light chipping along the spine crown and very minor creasing at the front panel’s edges. Still though, a very presentable copy. Quarto, dozens of crisp black-and-white photos and plans throughout.
