This Heintz Art Metal Sterling Silver on Bronze Photo Frame or Calendar Holder is a very early example of the work produced by Otto L. This was almost certainly designed to hold a small desk calendar but easily doubles as a small photo frame or business card holder. The Sterling Silver geometric/floral element is stamped STERLING and the reverse bears the early signature stamp of Otto L. This pattern is one of the more scare and uncommon varieties. About Heintz Art Metal. In 1906 Otto L. Heintz invented and patented a secret method of attaching decorative sterling silver overlay to each piece without the use of messy solder. The silver overlay is decidedly Arts & Crafts in the hand craftsmanship it required and the depiction of natural motifs, such as flowers, plants, leaves, birds and branches. Heintz would go on to patent his processes for producing articles in metal, most notably his unique method for applying sterling silver to bronze without solder which was granted in 1912. Deco pattern with an Art Nouveau style, making it a unique and ornate decorative collectible. The rectangular frame is suitable for a 2 x 3 inch photo, with a top-loading photo insertion type for easy display. Crafted in a glowinthis original piece exudes elegance and charm, perfect for showcasing a single landscape-oriented photo in a vintage Edwardian era setting. I’m pleased to show you this fabulous (2) piece coffee set designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Imperial Hotel. The original set was made up of (3) pieces and included a sugar bowl but I do not have the sugar bowl. / Tiffany & Co. The set is in great condition with some minor surface scratches that are hardly worth mentioning considering the quality of the pieces. The handle has a slight wiggle but I think it just needs a bit of adjusting or this may be normal. A little bit of light polishing may be in order. PLEASE NOTE: B eing shown as found and I did NOT polish anything. Most of my buyers tell me not to polish the items. I use a macro setting to capture as much detail as possible. Keep in mind when using the zoom tool that you are seeing the item magnified and enlarged many times over. See pictures for details because they are a big part of the description.
