Frank Lloyd Wright

First edition of Gardner Hale’s only work on the art of fresco painting, it is comprised of ten chapters prepared by him, as well as two chapters written by Shaemas O’Sheel from Hale’s notes. There is also a preface by José Clemente Orozco and a long dust jacket blurb by Frank Lloyd Wright. The text is accompanied by illustrations of wall paintings from various periods of art history, as well as reproductions of frescos by Hale himself. Though Hale worked on many civic and private commissions during his career, the works on this book are religious in nature, perhaps a nod to that period when religious wall painting was at its zenith: the early Italian Renaissance. I want to highlight that the dust jacket is in two pieces but I carefully butted them together when I put them inside the dust jacket cover. I did not use any adhesive or tape. Also, please note there is a tear on the dust jacket spine. Again, I carefully held the two edges torture when I put them in the dust jacket cover, so it is not so evident, but he aware in case you want to take the dust jacket out of the cover. Finally, the book cover itself is relatively clean with minor wear and fading at spine head, and book block itself is clean and tight, though there are a few spots here and there owing to age. I already have a copy of this book in my library. Someone gave me this one because they know how much I love the subject.
