Frank Lloyd Wright Wallcovering Sample Book. This is an extremely rare copy of a Schumacher Frank Lloyd Wright wallcovering salesman sample book. I have not been able to find another example of this book anywhere. The book measures 10″x13″ and is over 2 thick. It has 144 wallcovering samples in it, including. 111 Wallcovering Samples made of Scrim Backed Embossed Vinyl. Sample sizes are 9 3/8″ by 12 1/4″. Hand printed on paper. In 1986/1987, during the Post-Mod Neo-Deco craze, Schumacher introduced a collection adapted from and including Wright’s designs from 1955 and earlier. The collection included textiles and wallcoverings. The wallcovering designs in this sample book are adapted from Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs and include Wright’s designs from 1955 and earlier. Wallcovering designs are named after Wright designed buildings and homes and other works, including Taliesin, Hoffman, Imperial Hotel, Coonley House, Lava Carving, The House Beautiful, Autobiography, Robie House Gate, March Balloons, Triangular Tulip, etc. In 1955, Frank Lloyd Wright developed the Taliesin Ensemble, a line of furnishings for those that did not live in one of his homes. Partnerships were formed with five companies to produce Frank Lloyd Wright designed furniture, rugs, paints, accessories vases, planters, etc. , and wallcoverings and fabrics. The wallcoverings and fabrics were manufactured by Schumacher and coordinated with the other lines furniture, paint, rugs, etc. Many of these items are now considered museum pieces.
