This is an exquisite hard to find tile from Motawi, Tileworks, Ann Arbor, MI. From the Frank Lloyd Wright Collection. Signed and measures at 6×6. Exquisite colors and heavy. Some light surface wear on corners, however, no damage or issues noted. It includes a heavy metal, feels and looks like wrought iron, stand. This was the Motawi Hoffman tile. This Motawi art tile from the Frank lloyd Wright Collection is adapted from a rug that Wright designed in 1957 for the home of client Max Hoffman. This globe stand is an authentic reproduction from a drawing found in the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation archives. It is an unidentified concept for one of the Prairie Homes that Mr. Wright designed in the early 1900s. The only marking on the drawing is in his handwriting and says, “Something like this”.
