Based on an architectural detail by Frank Lloyd Wright in one of the houses he had designed. Very rare piece, very few were made. Some people like the silver tarnished, so we will leave it this way, but it can easily be cleaned off if desired. Very hard to photograph to show how nice it is, but this is a beauty. Started in 1985, ACME Studio is an international product design company, producing and marketing writing instruments, and other design objects. Its products are the result of cooperation with the worlds leading architects, designers, artists, foundations, estates and institutions. This one is a sterling silver, handmade miniature, manufactured by Acme Studios. Only 250 ever made. Part of a collection of 13 chairs which also includes Starck, Sottsass, Mackintosh, Rietveld, De Lucchi, Eames, Gehry, and others which will be appearing in future auctions. Perfect condition, never used, in itsoriginal packaging, no longer in production. DIMENSIONS: 2 1/4″ tall X 1 1/2″ wide. These are sterling silver which tarnishes over time, so some polishing may be needed. Some people like the tarnish/patina so we leave them as they are. My grandmother was one of his 6 children. I remember having thanksgivings in the desert at his spread at Taliesin West near Phoenix, Arizona. I was at that horrible in between age of 13 so I got sat with all my younger obnoxious cousins because there was no one close to my age. My mother did her level best to include me, but to no avail. I remember all the Joshua cactus trees and the owls hooting during the night. At my age at the moment I cannot tolerate heat but I do love the desert nights. He was always certain and completely confidant in that. He passed away when I was about 8 years old, but what I do remember is seeing him alone in his studio, an imposing yet gentle air with his grandchildrens presence to be sure, and always gazing off through the slanted windows across the desert plains, imagining all sorts of possibilities. He was undoubtedly a genius in his craft and always one of a kind both in his private life and his much renowned public life. These pair of glasses are the same… One of a kind, used as needed for the fascination of theatre and opera, and the arts in general which he loved so dearly. God Bless him for he was indeed one unusual human being and his gifts to the world were immeasurable much to the chagrin of his often neglected family.. Bracelet is hallmarked on back and reads. I see no flaws in the piece–like new. This listing is for the Frank Lloyd Wright sterling cuff that is shown in the photos. The last pic shows the cuff on my digital kitchen scale (in order to give a ballpark idea of its gram weight). Cuff measures approximately 6″ from one end to the other, and approximately 1 7/8″ wide. Bracelet has minor surface scratches from use.
