A rare, vintage No Bus Parking This Street sign, from Oak Park, Illinois, in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. Likely dates to the 1980s. This would have been on a street which is part of the Frank Lloyd Wright and Prairie School Architecture tour in Oak Park, IL, perhaps in front of a Frank Lloyd Wright designed home. Who would want to see a bus parked in front of one of those homes? ! The sign style is nearly identical to the cover of a book by Paul E. Sprague titled Guide to Frank Lloyd Wright and Prairie School Architecture in Oak Park (see photo 7). Measures 12″ x 18″ x 1/8 approx. Thickness, weighs just under 3 lbs without packaging. Please note, the book featured in photo 7 is used for reference only. I do not own the book, and as such, the book is not for sale or part of this sale. Please choose whichever is most convenient and economical for you. For conditions, please review photos closely using the magnifying tool or zoom in! Vintage, No Bus Parking This Street sign, from Oak Park, Illinois, in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. Sign in used condition, with indications of age, use, and storage related wear. Indications of use outdoors, in the elements, for years, in the Chicago area. As such, it has imperfections, most, if not all should be visible in the photos, including some flecks of green paint, which can likely be removed if done carefully. Ultimately in good shape for its age and intended use and displays well. If you have questions or would like more photos, please ask! Thanks for looking and MAKE AN OFFER!! As always, MAKE AN OFFER!! SOMMERHAUS IN FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, LANDHAUS IM VORORT HIGHLAND PARK, ILLINIOS. Lithograph, emboss lower left, published by Ernst Wasmuth A. Berlin win 1910-11, from the Wasmuth Portfolio, Volume II. Visible image measures approximately: 15 3/8″ W x 23 1/8″ H. Measures approximately: 23″ W x 30 7/8″ H. About the Print and Wasmuth Portfolio. Summer house in Fresno, California. Suburban house in Highland Park, Illinois. A board house for Mr. Stewart at Fresno, California. Sketch for one-story rambling dwelling on the lake shore, beside a deep ravine, at Highland Park, for Mr. The upper illustration is the board and batten residence for Mr. Stewart in Fresno, California. The lower illustration is dwelling for Mr. The Wasmuth Portfolio, a two-volume folio of 100 lithographs of Wright’s work published in Germany in 1910-11. It was a collaborative effort between Wright and Berlin publisher Ernst Wasmuth, the Berlin publisher of expensive art books. The actual title of the monograph, translated from the German, is Studies and Executed Buildings of Frank Lloyd Wright. It was the first publication of Wright’s work to appear anywhere in the world, as he had not published any of his work in his 20 previous years of activity. The portfolio is significant as a link between Wright’s pioneering American architecture, and the first generation of modernist architects in Europe. The project was completed during the architect’s first trip to Europe in 1909, and was published the following year. The collection of Wright’s houses and commercial buildings received far more attention and praise in Europe than in the United States at that point, and some contemporary architects called it the most important book of the century. However, in 1914, a fire destroyed the building and all but about thirty portfolios were damaged or destroyed. The pile in the basement smouldered and smoked for three days after the house had burned to the ground. There are 72 lithographs on heavy laminated paper and 28 captioned tissue overlays. The giant plates, 16 by 25 inches in size, were printed in brown or gray ink on gray or eggshell paper. This item is in the category “Art\Art Prints”. This listing is for a set of 3 preowned vintage Noritake ceramic saucers from the 1979 Oak Park Collection designed originally by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Imperial Hotel Tokyo. They measure about 6 in diameter. There is a stamp on the bottom. Unfortunately I only have 3 saucers available, though they work well on their own as small dishes or decor, if not to be added to an existing collection.
