This globe stand is an authentic reproduction from a drawing found in the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation archives. It is an unidentified concept for one of the Prairie Homes that Mr. Wright designed in the early 1900s. The only marking on the drawing is in his handwriting and says, Something like this. The proportions, and interpretation, of the drawing were calculated based on the scale of other drawings from this time period. International Buyers – Please Note. Up for sale here is a vintage, antique, circa early to late 1950s unframed, original Gelatin Silver Photograph on paper mounted to a very old piece of cardboard. The subject matter of this photograph is Frank Lloyd Wright’s Waterfall House which was completed in 1936 and is located in Pennsylvania. The size of the photograph only comes to 14 inches high by 17 inches across and with the backing cardboard and mat 21 3/8 inches by 24 inches. There is no signature from what we can see on the back or front. We believe that this photograph was mounted in Wisconsin as the old backing paper has the word “Mosinee” watermarked in the old backing paper. Mosinee was an old paper mill located about 90 miles North of Frank Lloyd Wright’s home in Mosinee, Wisconsin and this paper would most likely have been distributed in the region the company had not gone by the name Mosinee paper for quite some time. As for condition the photograph is glued down to an old piece of cardboard. The mat has been glued down to the margins of the photograph on the front so the piece is a single piece as you see in the pictures. Over the years it appears that curious treasure hunters have separated and pulled the glue apart on the mount and mat and luckily it has not ripped the photograph. There are also finger prints and black marks on the old mat which is beginning to turn a dark cream color. This is a nice vintage photograph and the vantage point in which it was taken is not one that you typically see in most photographs of the Waterfall House. If you collect Mid Century Modern , Deco and are a fan of classic architecture, this would make a nice addition to your collection. We will not alter the value of an item for export purposes.
