Decorate your favorite room with this hand-painted designer resin sculpture featuring the Flower in the Crannied Wall Statue designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and Richard Bock to be placed in the entrance alcove of the Dana Thomas House in Springfield, Illinois. The astounding sculpture measures 18.25″ tall, 5.25″ long and 5.25 deep approximately. Flower in the Crannied Wall was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and Richard Bock for placement in the entrance alcove of the 1902 Susan Lawrence Dana House in Springfield, Illinois. While Wright knew he wanted a sculpture in this location, he was uncertain about just what he wanted. The final design, executed by Bock in terra cotta, combined ideas from both architect and sculptor and resulted in a naturalistic rendering of a female nude rising from a geometrically abstract column. Named after the Alfred Lord Tennyson poem, which is also shown on the back, the sculpture symbolically represents the human attempt to understand nature and the universe. Poem on back of Sculpture reads “Flower in the crannied wall, I pluck you out of the crannies, I hold you here, root and all, in my hand, little flower but if I could understand what you are, root and all, and all in all, I should know what God and man is”. This stylized design of a desert landscape is adapted from Saguaro Forms and Cactus Flowers; one of a set of magazine covers Frank Lloyd Wright designed for Liberty magazine in 1927, but was not published at the time. Since then this design was re-created by Mr. Wright in 1955 for a rug, and was also adapted by the Taliesin Architects for an art glass window installed in the 1970s remodel of the entrance to the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, Arizona where it can still be seen today. On this glass panel, enamel colors are individually applied to a single sheet of glass which is then kiln fired to permanently fuse the enamels to the glass. The glass is then wood framed and includes a wooden plaque base. Hanging hardware is also included with the stained glass so that you have dual function to this masterpiece stained glass art. Ebros Polyresin Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture Art Lady Flower Statue 18.25H

This beautiful sculpture is made of polyresin, individually hand painted and polished. She measures 18.25″ tall, 5.25″ long and 5.25 deep approximately. Flower in the Crannied Wall was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and Richard Bock for placement in the entrance alcove of the 1902 Susan Lawrence Dana House in Springfield, Illinois. While Wright knew he wanted a sculpture in this location, he was uncertain about just what he wanted. The final design, executed by Bock in terra cotta, combined ideas from both architect and sculptor and resulted in a naturalistic rendering of a female nude rising from a geometrically abstract column. Named after the Alfred Lord Tennyson poem, which is also shown on the back, the sculpture symbolically represents the human attempt to understand nature and the universe. Poem on back of Sculpture reads “Flower in the crannied wall, I pluck you out of the crannies, I hold you here, root and all, in my hand, little flower but if I could understand what you are, root and all, and all in all, I should know what God and man is”.
