Offered is an original typed note on Taliesin stationery, personally signed by Frank Lloyd Wright in blue ink and dated June 27, 1954. Addressed to The Viking Press in New York, Wright humorously responds to a proposed publication or classification, writing. What you propose is good fun. I don’t want to be famous for my’old age. The note captures Wright’s characteristic wit and self-awareness during the final years of his remarkable career. Documents reflecting his thoughts on aging, fame, and publishing are highly collectible, particularly when they bear his unmistakable handwritten signature on official Taliesin letterhead. Condition is very good overall with expected fold lines from original mailing/storage, light age toning, and minor edge wear. There are period pencil notations on the front (including a June 29, 1954 stamp and collector’s notes), all shown in the photographs.
