Frank Lloyd Wright MCM Arts & Crafts Style Panel leaded slag glass LAMP SHADE. Condition is used – over all very good, with commonly found interior bubbles, straw marks. Slag colors are Carmel, white and green. Measurements are located in item specifics. This is a pyramid or conical shaped lamp with sloping sides. 18 Carmel & WHITE leaded slag glass panels, with a green and white spider web leaded glass panel skirt rim. No chips, broken or missing parts. Overs all the shade is excellent, near perfect. Fitter hole at top of lamp is a hair shy of 7/8th of an inch. This will need a finial to securely stay on top of a lamp base shade mount. Please see photos for detailed views. Photos are part of item description. Please contact me if any questions. Original vintage lighting from the estate of a restoration lamp dealer whos inventory spanned from the 1800′s right on through to the end of the 1900s. The slag glass panels Lights Up – Arts and crafts in the style and manor of Frank Lloyd Wright. Looks like its original surface in a sponge like paint decor. Metal and and another material as a magnet sticks in some areas, hefty 8 lbs. Just as found, dusty – with a nice vintage surface //. The light switch works fine and the bottom leaded area lights as does the sockets. 21″ tall 7″ x 7. Message estate-assets your questions or offers for review and consideration. FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT CITY BY THE SEA LEADED STAINED GLASS ART DECO WINDOW PANEL. City by the Sea City by the Sea was originally painted as a mural in the Midway Gardens. Commissioned by Edward Waller, Jr. To be built as an entertainment center in Chicago, the Midway Gardens provided Wright with an opportunity to design an elaborate complex including indoor ballrooms, outdoor restaurants, trellises, balconies and sunken gardens. The opening of the Gardens in August 1914 was the social event of the decade. Unfortunately, World War I and Prohibition followed, leading to the eventual failure of the Gardens, which was demolished in 1929. Demonstrating Wrights preference for “pure, bright color, ” City by the Sea evokes perfectly shaped balloons bouncing across an ocean of confetti. City by the Sea is a complex composition of juxtaposed shapes and vibrant colors, a celebration of the distinctive characteristics of 20th century modern art.
