Day was an accomplished Philadelphia architect, housing planner, and educator. The son of prominent architect Frank Miles Day, Kenneth established his own architectural practice and later taught architecture at Yale University, making this correspondence one between two significant American architects. My dear Day: Intend staying only for the office I perform but thank you sincerely for your kind invitation. The message reflects a cordial professional friendship, with Wright politely declining Day’s invitation while expressing his appreciation. Signed correspondence exchanged directly between Frank Lloyd Wright and fellow architects is considerably scarcer than routine business letters and offers a fascinating glimpse into Wright’s professional network during the early 1940s. The signature is a bold example of Wright’s characteristic autograph and appears on original Taliesin stationery from Spring Green, Wisconsin, predating the establishment of Taliesin West as his primary winter residence. Condition: Good vintage condition with expected mailing folds, light age toning, and scattered brown spotting near the lower portion of the sheet as shown in the photographs.
