Manufactured by Noritake, Japan. Frank Lloyd Wright made two designs for the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. The first was printed with 22 carat gold highlights and was produced from 1923 to 1933. This proved extremely expensive, and in 1934 the Cabaret service was introduced. This work should not be confused with a limited edition from Heinz and Company that was issued in 1984, nor the second edition produced by Tiffany and Company. The Imperial Hotel was demolished in 1968.

Archived FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT “Imperial” Rollerball Pen NEW “Imperial” Standard Roller Ball Pen, a design inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, comes from ACME Studio’s Standard Roller Ball Pens. The design, on a black background, is based on the pattern used in the informal dining room of the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan commissioned in 1916. The pen comes with one black roller ball refill. Artist’s signature is engraved on the cap band and “ACME” is on the clip. The pen is presented in a metal Frank Lloyd Wright tin with a black sleeve and ACME literature.
