Arts & Crafts era, large heavy cast brass door knocker. This piece will definitely make an impression on anyone who picks it up in there hand, and it belongs on a substantial door that could use good knocking when a visitor has arrived. I have not polished or cleaned anything as I like the natural patina, where you can see this piece has been used and knocked on throughout the past. This is a true antique/vintage piece, which is not the easiest to find since there are so many reproductions out there you will have to sort through with a simple Google search. Please note that the knocker part is not bent at all. You might see that it does not exactly line up down the middle in the photos, and is just a tiny tad bit off… You should be able to straighten this out by loosening the nut on the back. There is a little area where the brass is worn and rough at top left and right sides… This can be better seen in the 6th and 7th photo. Other very minor spots of wear might possibly be found. Nothing that takes away from the overall aesthetic. This piece will take up a footprint of 9″ tall x 6″ wide x 2.5 deep, wherever it is you decide to put it. Somewhat reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright’s modernist style of the times, and could be a great addition to not only a Craftsman home, but also Mid Century Modern, or even contemporary.
