Pair (Two) Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesen Barrel Chairs 606 Cassina Mid Century Modern. Up for sale are a pair of rare and amazing Italian made Taliesen Barrel Chair Model 606 as designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1937. These chairs were made in Italy by Cassina Furniture. Dining chair with curved back in stained black with a matte finish. Plastic material seat with polyurethane foam and polyester padding. The seat covers have been professionally re-upholstered with a rich Gold poly blend that is soft to the touch and lightly textured. Thisll the original factory tag has been re-attached for dating and identification purposes. The curved back design and dome style cushion seat pad make for an incredibly comfortable fit. The color combination of gold and black wood stain makes for a beautiful contrast; they are stylish and make a statement as side chairs in any room. Both chairs are stamped and numbered: one is #18414 and the second is #19160. Both stamped with Cassina logo, Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation Square logo, and Frank Lloyd Wright Signature, 1986 date stamp and FLWfdn stamp (Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation). There are some small dents and dings on the back lip of the chairs, one of the back rests, and a few on the arm rests. These 6 chairs were custom built from Frank Lloyd Wright blueprints for a Usonian lounge chair, similar to the ones found in FLW homes such as the Winn House and the Turkel House. Here’s your chance to own a more affordable version handcrafted from Wright’s original blueprints archived at Columbia University. The chairs are from FLW’s Stuart Richardson House in Glen Ridge, NJ. They feature removable cushions with removable, zipper-equipped upholstery. The comfortable, extra-wide padded cushions velcro onto the back and bottom of the wooden chairs. There is some minor fading on some of the cushions and some very minor wear on some of the chair frames, but overall these pieces are in excellent condition and make for stunning conversation pieces. They can be grouped together to form a banquette or separated to use as dining table chairs or lounge chairs placed throughout the house. FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT Chairs (2) From Kalita Humphreys Theater In Dallas, 1959. I bought these directly from the theater in the 1990s when my wife and I lived in Dallas. I never attempted to restore them but they are in great shape and only need to have the base stand bare metal sanded / cleaned, primed and painted. I have stored them in a temperature controlled environment since acquiring them. What makes one of these two chairs very unique is that one of them has a special brass or copper plate on the left arm rest which has the name Mr. Rodman engraved on it as well as Wrights drawling of the theater. Clearly, this was a special seat for a theater donor or sponsor and the plaques drawling – in addition to its colors and design – directly ties it to Wright design. This beautiful solid cherry dining table w/4 chairs is in very good condition. There are a few spots where the polyurethane finish could use some sanding and recoating, but as seen in the photos, it is gorgeous!
