Tray is very Sturdy Heavy brass w a Fantastic antique brass patina thruout with pierced sides &braided brass edges & pierced inteesting design. Overall this Tray has just beautiful clean lines. Top edges of the tray is created in the brass to look like a braided rope. Nice because the pierced sides make it a caged tray & none of your items will get away. Just looks lovely on a mans desk /or a womans. It is superbly Handsome on a desktop & enhances any room & any desk or counter. Beautiful Clean straight lines forming a very ARTS & CRAFTS Beauty & just overall a SUPERB piece. Looks STICKLEY ERA TO ME. ARTS & CRAFTS Mission HEAVY CAST BRASS DOOR KNOCKER Frank Lloyd Wright ANTIQUE

Arts & Crafts era, large heavy cast brass door knocker. This piece will definitely make an impression on anyone who picks it up in there hand, and it belongs on a substantial door that could use good knocking when a visitor has arrived. I have not polished or cleaned anything as I like the natural patina, where you can see this piece has been used and knocked on throughout the past. This is a true antique/vintage piece, which is not the easiest to find since there are so many reproductions out there you will have to sort through with a simple Google search. Please note that the knocker part is not bent at all. You might see that it does not exactly line up down the middle in the photos, and is just a tiny tad bit off… You should be able to straighten this out by loosening the nut on the back. There is a little area where the brass is worn and rough at top left and right sides… This can be better seen in the 6th and 7th photo. Other very minor spots of wear might possibly be found. Nothing that takes away from the overall aesthetic. This piece will take up a footprint of 9″ tall x 6″ wide x 2.5 deep, wherever it is you decide to put it. Somewhat reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright’s modernist style of the times, and could be a great addition to not only a Craftsman home, but also Mid Century Modern, or even contemporary. These 2 sets of hardware come from a large private doctors office in Whitefish Montana designed by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1958 for T. Wright died in 1959 before the 5,000-square-foot building, which became known as the Lockridge Medical Clinic, was finished. First State Bank moved into the building in 1964 and it was divided into professional offices in 1980, that is when our company was working there and removed 2 origional doors during that remodel. These were taken from a large office door and interior closet set. The doors were extremly heavy and later used as work benches. Sacrilege I know now but at least we hung onto the brass. They sat on a shelf since 1980 in the back shop collecting dust untill we read about the demolition of the building. These have been oiled baked and wiped dry. In the light most of the time it has a green sheen and in others it looks black. These are very heavy cast brass sets, not pressed metal but true cast hardware. The exterior office door knob is 2.5 inches where all the interior knobs are 2 inches. This building sadly is slated for demolition this month here in Montana. Please do look up its history, truly a sad end to one of Wright’s final projects. Ask any questions you have and I will answer ASAP. Included but not photographed is the spindle mounting hardware and mortise lock sets and screws. Set of 4 vintage brass and slag and beveled glass window panels, each 27.75″ x 10.5″. An estate sale find with no makers marks though no doubt quality. Well made, good condition, solid and sturdy with some slight rubbery caulk residue along the outside edges from wherever they were installed previously. Each panel weighs just under 6 pounds, will be packed with care. Stunning pieces however displayed. They measure approximately 12 inches tall, 10 inches at their widest and set 5 inches from the wall. The pair is pretty much ready to be installed.
