And Frank Lloyd Wright [Gannet, sic] Title: The House Beautiful [Facsimile Edition] Publication: Park Forest, IL: Prairie School Press, 1963. A high-quality facsimile of these detailed Frank Lloyd Wright decorative designs with Gannett’s short text. From the title page: “The House Beautiful, in a setting designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and printed by hand at the Auvergne Press in River Forest by William Herman Winslow and Frank Lloyd Wright during the winter months of the year” 1896-7. The original edition was 90 copies, printed in black with red highlights. The author’s name is misspelled with one T on the title page (Gannet). Bound in at the front is a chapbook of black-and-white nature photographs by Wright. This is not strictly speaking an architecture book as there are no drawings of houses. Instead, the contents reflect the ideas and forms that Wright would later incorporate into his buildings. 12 by 14 inches. A near fine copy in faux leather and cloth binding, replicating the original.
