SUCCESSFUL HOUSES AND HOW TO BUILD THEM. Chicago area architect and architecture critic Charles E. Makes a thorough examination of single-dwelling houses in this significant work, published in 1912. White was an associate of Frank Lloyd Wright and worked for a time in Wright’s Oak Park studio. Several of the illustrations in this book are of Wright creations. This hardcover first edition, second printing, is signed by White on the first page, with a non-personalized inscription. Extremely rare thus: this is the only signed copy of any of White’s books for sale anywhere online. The book is in quite good condition. The binding is a little soft but still sound. The text is a little toned with age, otherwise in fine shape. Definitely an above-average copy of this collector’s item, made possibly unique by the autograph. 5.25″X 7.5″, vii + 520 pages plus a publisher’s catalog, many illustrations.
