This is a monumental folio of 100 large drawings and plans of buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. This is the American edition printed in a limited number of 2,600. This American edition was printed to replace the 500 original copies of the German edition that burned in the Taliesin House fire. This copy is NO. An Antique Original Metal Built In Section of Filing Cabinet. This unit was identified, authenticated and auctioned by the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy in 2009, Lot #6, and was a gift of Jack Quinan, Conservancy founder and Frank Lloyd Wright historian. As the building was demolished in 1950 there are very few industrial type items like this that remain. More on the Larkin Building can easily be found online. The last photo here shows a room in the Larkin Administration Building with this type of cabinet in multiples installed to a wall. The drawers all open and each drawer except the largest has adjustable sliders to accommodate how much is stored at a time. All of the hardware is original. There are drill holes at each corner on top as these would have been bolted together in multiples. The surfaces are aged and distressed but are all original enamel. Little Building Co Frank Lloyd Wright Jacobs House 1:100 Architectural Model. This is a 1:250 wooden model of Frank Lloyd Wright’s famed Herbert and Katherine Jacobs House in Madison, Wisconsin. This Mid-Century Modern Usionian design is part of the Frank Lloyd Wright Collection by Australian architectural model company, The Little Building Co. The set comes with a shadow box as well as the COMPLETED architectural model as shown in the photos. This Frank Lloyd Wright Unity Temple model would be a great gift for architects, engineers, designers, Frank Lloyd Wright fans, or architectural enthusiasts. Excellent size to accent a desk, shelving, or coffee table centerpiece. The shadow box has a small 1/4 inch blemish on the edge of the box as shown in the last photograph. The shadow box measures 10 1/4″ W x 11″ L x 2 3/4 H. The Jacobs Model measures 9 3/4″ W x 9 3/4″ L x 2 1/2 H. The model is used and in excellent condition. A very special memoir written by a young couple who befriended architect Wright during the Great Depression, challenging him to design “a five-thousand-dollar house”. He designed the famous Usonia #1, and the Solar Hemisphere over the years, and the book includes photos and anecdotes about the process. Their friendship lasted 25 years, until Wright’s death. This is a scarce copy of the 1978 first edition, published by Chronicle Books in association with Robert Briggs. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
