The Monona Basin Project is a lar ge comb-bound book delineating one of several proposals for development of a civic center and entertainment complex around the shores of Lake Monona in downtown Madison. This basic idea was first proposed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1938 and the proposal included a convention center, a hall and auditorium on Law Park, and extensive development of Olin Park and Turville Point, including an art center, theater, amphitheater, and floating stage, beach house, restaurant, and marina. The project was eventually revived in 1990, but only the convention center was ever built, based on Wright’s exterior designs but with a completely new interior by former Wright apprentice Anthony Puttnam of Taliesin Associated Architects, completed in 1997. Comb-bound paperback, blue embossed covers. New old stock with only minor dings to edges and some rubbing on the covers. The interior is clean, including 90 pages of text, line drawings, maps, figures, and more. It measures approximately 14.25″ by 11″. Please review the photos included with this listing.
