Designed by Wright in 1948 for Mrs. Clinton Della Walker, who said she wanted a house “as durable as the rocks and as transparent as the waves, ” it was built by Miles Bain and completed in 1951. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. The home was featured as the beach house in the 1959 film “A Summer Place, ” directed and written by Delmer Daves, and starring Richard Egan and Dorothy McGuire. 10 x 8 inches. This book measures approximately 10″ x 8.25″, with 326 numbered pages. The book is in very good condition. Gilt lettering on spine is very well preserved. Minor staining to the boards. Dust jacket is in good condition. Moderate chipping and edgewear to the extremities. “The Future of Architecture” is a collection of Wright’s major statements on architecture from 1930 to the present time of the book (1953). The Future of Architecture. Horizon Press, New York. Dust Jacket Not Included. This is in very good, like new condition minus it’s missing the duct jacket. I doubt it was ever opened or read.
