This is the 103rd year anniversary one very rare artifact from “FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT’S, MIDWAY GARDENS CHICAGO 1914″. A vintage Small Platter with Midway Gardens top logo! The logo “MIDWAY GARDENS” with a square around the outside a red triangle inside the “W”. On the back side of the china has an impressed mark from the maker “BAUSCHER CHINA” It Says in r ed c opy New York-Chicago, Bauscher Weidan Germany 1914. This is a great old piece, the china is without any cracks or chips it does have wear to the edge of the red squares design to the outside from use. It is 7″ Across by 4 1/2″ Wide. This piece is a very rare item and not many have been found. The Midway Gardens name and ownership was only under the first owners for 2 short seasons from the opening June 27 th. 1914 tell Edelweiss Brewing Co. Took over in 1916. The name then was changed to “EDELWEISS GARDENS” it makes sense the new owners would have destroyed these pieces and not have kept any Midway Gardens logo printed material or china, silver plate or beer steins around any longer. So as you can imagine these items are very scarce. The entire structure was torn down in 1929.
