This 1949 autographed Letter is personally signed by Frank Lloyd Wright in blue ink. This letter was sent to Manuel Sandoval in San Francisco Gift Shop and Staff January 4th, 1949. It is typed on Taliesin West Paradise Valley Arizona Frank Lloyd’s business 8 X 10 stationary. Wright designed the Morris Gift shop in the late 1940′s located at 140 Maiden Lane, SF. All the built in furniture was constructed out of black walnut designed by Sandoval. The two friends met in the 1930′S and remained friends until Wright’s passing in 1959′. In addition to the letter included is a’POST CARD’ to Sandoval inviting his family to Wright’s family cabin in Denver CO. The post mark is not clear to determine the date. Frank Lloyd Wright became famous and sought after with his Prairie Style architecture which strived for’an organic’ architecture for homes and commercial buildings. One of these styles was’open floor plan’ which he believed was the antidote to a’closed-in’ architecture. This personal note from Mr. Wright to his friend Manual Sandoval is a rare find and great specimen of his flair signature.
