Frank Lloyd Wright Business Card, Circa 1951. Author: Wright, Frank Lloyd Title: Frank Lloyd Wright Business Card, Circa 1951. Description: A business card from Frank Lloyd Wright’s San Francisco office, belonging to Aaron Green, circa 1951. On a visit in 1951 to Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wrightâ s home and studio near Scottsdale, Arizona, Aaron Green mentioned that he was planning to relocate his architectural practice to San Francisco. To his surprise, Wright suggested a joint venture. Wright had good reason for wanting to establish a satellite office there: he had several houses and a store in various stages of planning or completion, and prospects were favorable for obtaining more work, including a bridge across San Francisco Bay. For Green, the association offered a way to formalize his relationship with Wright while continuing to develop his independent practice. During that time, Wright and Green worked together on the V. Morris Gift Shop (Wright’s only commercial project) and Wright’s last major project, the Marin County Civic Center, among others. Green, who had been an apprentice at Taliesin, was responsible for carrying the Marion County Civic Center project to completion after Wright’s death in 1959. Included is a contemporary business card from Aaron Green Architects. A fascinating piece of ephemera linking Wright and one of his most important associates. 3.5 x 2 inches.
