FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT: SELECTED DRAWINGS PORTFOLIO, 1982 VOL 3, ORIG BOX A159/500. This is the third and final volume published by Horizon / ADA Edita between 1977 and 1982. This is copy number 159 of 500 copies. The three volumes offer a display of Wright’s work of extraordinary magnitude. Each volume, however, stands alone as a significant representation of Wright’s work. The volume is a 22″ by 16″ folio, weighing roughly 18 pounds. The near fine clamshell case is of terracotta cloth, and the plates are presented on archival papers, covered with a tissue overlay. There is no evidence that all plates have ever been examined. Some discoloration to edges of first 4 or 5 plates, otherwise, contents is near fine in a near fine cardboard slipcase (one corner bumped), no stains and Elephant Folio. Limited edition of 500 copies (A001-A500). The present copy is number A159. 50 mounted color plates on heavy card stock, all wrapped in glassine wrapper and set into a heavy terracotta cloth covered clamshell with ivory latches. This is the last volume produced in Tokyo of the three volume set. The first was published in 1977, the second in 1980. Each contains 50 color prints. Wright is best known for nature-harmonious edifices such as Fallingwater and the Guggenheim Museum.
