Description: (4) ceramic prototype plates, feature Frank Lloyd Wright designs, (3) marked HEATH… And dated on bottom/(1) unmarked. Dimensions: (1) 11 inch diameter, (2) 10 1/2 inch diameter, (1) 8 1/4 inch diameter. Provenance: Edith Heath Estate. Note: These are prototypes for the Frank Lloyd Wright, Marin Civic Center commemorative design project, only made it to pre-production phase. See image # 8, & 9, architecture of structures illustrated. Biography: The defining influence of Edith Heath on 20th century American design, by creating distinctive ceramic dinnerware and architectural times that were commercially unavailable at the time, captured the attention of Frank Lloyd Wright, who specified Heath dinnerware for some of his projects Edith Heath — renowned ceramicist, Marsha Ginsburg, SF Chronicle, Jan. Condition: Fine; no chips or cracks. Characteristic of prototypes, the art design highlights are uneven in areas e. See image # 3, appear as some areas of loss in linear pattern. For your consideration, a plywood coffee table, by Wisconsin native and Frank Lloyd Wright apprentice, architect Herb Fritz. Along with the table, is a letter explaining the history, of this piece, a Mid Century Modern prototype. The condition is somewhat problematic. It needs a complete restoration. It has multiple water stains and one leg needs a total restoration, as some of the layers in the plywood are physically missing. The table comes with a letter providing the provenance of this item. It explains the table details, much more eloquently then I can. The letter is fully signed, I cropped the gentlemans name for privacy reasons.
