This clock is absolutely stunning! This is a VERY RARE, & HARD TO FIND floor standing clock, and it is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. The clock incorporates a BULOVA QUARTZ MECHANISM , and is battery operated (1 AA battery). The face of the clock, has the Frank Lloyd Wright name, in RED. The clock measures an impressive 78 INCHES IN HEIGHT (6 1/2 FEET) , and the BLACK metal base measures 10 INCHES SQUARE. The clock works perfectly. The clock is in the TALIESIN design. A very beautiful work of art, as well as being a fully functional floor clock. This particular design, will work very well, with most decors. The price of this Limited Edition clock, is going to continually increase, as time goes on, due to its rarity, and small production number. Thank you, for your time, and interest. His work heralded a new thinking in architecture, using innovation in design and engineering made possible by newly developed technology and materials. His creative ability extended far beyond the border or architecture to graphic design, and decorative elements for the home. In 1933, when Frank Lloyd Wright converted the original gymnasium of his hillside Home School located in Spring Green, Wisconsin, into a theater, he designed lighting pendents composed of rectangular light boxes and plywood shields to be suspended from the tall ceiling. These fixtures proved to be a lighting innovation, providing comfortable indirect light without the use of glass or shades. In 1952 when the theater was rebuilt following a fire, Wright modified the design of the original fixtures for use in the dining room, attaching them to the oak beam overhead. He found their soft indirect light so pleasing that he had a standing floor lamp of the same design fabricated for use in his own home, Taliesin. Each lamp is 16″ x 16″ at the base and 80 in. The lamp has 10 shades with 11 reflectors all made from solid wood and. Has (10) 15 Watt incandescent bulbs pre-installed as well as an on/off foot switch for easy power management. In the decades following World War II, those who studied under architect Frank Lloyd Wright in Spring Green, Wisconsin and Scottsdale, Arizona through his Taliesin apprentice program designed and built a fabulous array of structures in La Jolla and San Diego. Several of them, including Vincent Bonini, Frederick Liebhardt, Loch Crane, Sim Bruce Richards and Bill Slatton, established their professional practices in San Diego. In addition to these focal studies, the work of Frank Lloyd Wright and his two sons Lloyd and John was presented. Frank Lloyd Wrights Legacy in San Diego: the Taliesin Apprentices framed this remarkably rich portfolio of work with architectural drawings, photographs, and ephemera to demonstrate the power of Wrights influence. The exhibition displayed, for the first time in San Diego, Frank Lloyd Wrights unbuilt designs for the region. Curated by Keith York.
