Bulova Frank Lloyd Wright Luxfer Prism Wall Clock, 14, Bronze. Quiet sweep second handle. Raised hour indexes on dial. FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT COLLECTION: Frank Lloyd Wright designed and patented a series of 45 prisms of clear glass tiles to refract light for the Luxfer Prism Company building in Buffalo, New York, 1896-97. The front and rear walls of the building were made entirely of these Luxfer Prisms. This clock incorporates two of the famous prism designs, including the flower design that was the only one that was ever actually produced. Case is made of individual bronze finished rods. The dial has raised hour markers on a cream background with a shadow background design and a Smooth sweep second hand. Requires (1) AA battery, not included. 1.8 x 14 x 14 inches. The bronze is signed and numbered 21/100 and signed in-mold to left shoulder. Comes with Original Certificate of Authenticity and All Paperwork (see pics). It is mounted to a black honed and polished slate base. Wright sat for this bust in the sculptors Minneapolis studio in October of 1950. And a logo / vignet of Frank Lloyd Wright. And very small PK – short for VPK, and EC – for Eric Claus. This medal was commissioned and issued in 1963 by the. VPK – Vereniging voor Penningkunst – the Dutch art medal society. Executed at the bronze foundry of Koninklijke Begeer, Voorschoten The Netherlands. The patina for each medal was done by hand, often by the artist and therefor can differ, also the color can differ because of experimenting at the foundry looking for what the artists prefered.
