OIL ON CANVAS, LAID ON MASONITE, SIGNED ON VERSO. 46 X 36 INCHES. Justice was born on Sept. 9, 1941, in Blytheville, Arkansas. A student and follower of Frank Lloyd Wright, Jack Justice worked with Lloyd Wright, son of Frank and Bruce Goff, also a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. He showed much talent with his highly colorful, precise geometric designs, but his career was handicapped by his psychological problems. His calling was in the field of organic design pioneeredy by Wright and also recognized by Bruce Goff, Wright’s disciple and conceptor of the Price Tower in Oklahoma. Jack’s works were later used in various lectures and designs by Lloyd Wright, Frank’s son. Jack’s paintings were exhibited in the sixties in several leading Los Angeles galleries: Heritage Gallery, 1954, Horowitz Gallery, l964, Paul Rivas Gallery. 1964 and Ghormley Gallery, 1965. His work was shown in 1965 at the San Diego Art Guild. He also had many one-person shows in Ventura and Santa Barbara, California, and currently has a collection hanging in the Sedona Arizona Historical Art Museum.
