Weiner left New York in September of 1949 to become a freelance photographer in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended classes at Arizona State College, where he met artist Eugene Grigsby, who introduced Weiner to architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Weiner was invited several times to photograph Wright, his daughter Iovanna, apprentices and the buildings and grounds at Taliesin West, near Phoenix… Weiner was a member of the American Society of Magazine Photographers.
