1958 Vintage Wire Press Photo by ASSOCIATED PRESS. Architect Frank Lloyd Wright is shown in Iraqi Consulate as he points to his plans for grand opera and civic auditorium to be built in Baghdad, Iraq. With him is Iraq’s Consul General Hasim Hilli. The auditorium will be surrounded by three great circulating ramps, or ziggurats. The 88 year old Wright says the ziggurats were circular mounds of earth and masonry that protected the eight century city of Haroun Al-Rashid from flood and invasion.
