Limited and numbered First Edition (#770) of Frank Lloyd Wrights 1969 publication of The Industrial Revolution Runs Away. This folio sized brown and tan cloth bound hardcover and slip case features Wrights signature Red Square icon on the front cover, with gilt embossed title text on the spine. From an architects personal library, the condition is excellent with commensurate wear on the slip cover edges and corners, with some slight fading on the book spine. Due to the limited quantities of the First Edition, this 1969 Box Slipcase Edition rarely appears for sale. In 1932 Wright published his now classic indictment on the city as The Disappearing City. Wright continued to work on his thesis and in 1969 Horizon Press published a new boxed version of The Disappearing City, with Wright’s hand written revisions titled The Industrial Revolution Runs Away. It is a facsimile of the original 1932 edition reproducing each page as subsequently revised and written in Wright’s own hand. This edition also includes facing pages presenting the new text complete with the revisions. This edition is #770 of a limited of 1,250 numbered copies of which 250 were not for sale.
