Guggenheim Museum, Photograph by Ezra Stoller, framed with archival materials. Stoller is one of the greats in architectural photography, with even FLLW commenting when asked about how he wanted his work photographed Ezra will know… This particular image makes me think of what it must have been like to be one of the first visitors to the Guggenheim back in’59! The beauty of the space and the young woman’s gaze across the gallery make this one of the most iconic photographs I have had the privilege to own and see every day. You can read a bio of Stoller in his obituary in the NY Times for an appreciation of what he meant to modernist architecture in America. The images include two I took before the image was framed using archival materials and UV-protected anti-reflective plexiglass. You can see Stoller’s stamp on the back and an embossed mark on the front as well as the back. At the edge of the mat, the photograph is just under 10 wide and 7 1/2 tall.
