Envelope is sealed and empty. Lightly toned, stained, foxed and creased. Missing bottom left corner. Light tears along left edge. Paper loss on verso (no show-through). Most influential American architect of his time. But critics often scorned his concept of “organic” or “prairie” architecture because of its utter contrast to the prevailing neoclassical and neo-Gothic styles of the 19th century and the glass and steel high- rise structures of the 20th century. Wright revolutionized architecture with his ideas. Adapted his buildings to the environment, using the colors, forms, and textures of nature to furnish the aesthetic as well as functional needs of the inhabitants. Wright’s most notable structures are the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. Fallingwater in Mill Run, Pennsylvania. Guggenheim Museum in New York City.
