To see 150+ more house plans in a variety of styles. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Price Tower, 1953-56. You are purchasing the architectural drawings only. The color photo is NOT included in this package. Frank Lloyd Wright proposed several highly original and experimental skyscraper designs. But only 2 were ever built. The Price Tower, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, is one of those. The design skillfully mixes office and residential units, with some suites having double height spaces. Commissioned by Harold Price as corporate offices for the H. Price Company, it has recently undergone extensive restoration, returning it closely to its original form. This drawing set is a treasure trove for anybody interested in Wright’s later style. The plan is based on a grid of equilateral triangles, which yields a highly complex and fluid sense of space. As a work of art these prints are worth purchasing in their own right. For those of you interested in building a historically inspired house, these plans offer an excellent into Wright’s spatial planning. While most of his designs were based on a square or rectangular grid, in his later years he explored the possibilities of the triangular or honeycomb grid as an ordering device. These drawings offer detailed plans showing how skillfully he combined the requirements of daily living with the unusual geometry of the triangle. Building name: Price Tower.
