Frank Lloyd Wright Rare – Lloyd Wright Architect. This 28 page catalogue was published by the GA Galley (Max Protetch Gallery) in New York City and was produced for the opening of the exhibition of Lloyd Wright Drawings on January 28, 1987. The exhibition had a prior first opening in Japan. The catalogue includes 28 drawings, mostly in color with a forward by Eric Lloyd Wright, his son. Included is a separate 8 page listing by the Gallery of the 62 drawings in the exhibit. Also included is a copy of the New York Times review of the exhibit by Paul Goldberger. Lloyd Wright was the eldest son of Frank Lloyd Wright. Lloyd Wright’s interest was originally in landscape architecture. In 1919 he began working for his father on the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan and later was responsible for many of the finely- drawn renderings that were used in the Wasmuth Portfolio of Frank Lloyd Wright’s built and unbuilt works from the first fifteen years of his architectural practice. Lloyd Wright began his independent career in 1920, building a number of houses in Hollywood. His best know project is probably the Wayfarers Chapel built in 1951 and overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in California.
